Some convenient features (listed in the Downloads section) of MusShell require a licence.
The licence fee for only $30.00 US.
Each licence applies to one computer. If your hardware
changes substantially, you may need to relicense yourself. There is no charge for relicensing,
but there is a charge for your initial licence.
This is how to obtain your initial licence:
- Go to the Start Point, then to Explore, then to Shells. The Music Explorer appears.
- Use the help then licensing submenu in the Music Explorer.
(It’s located to the right of the 1-to-10 buttons.)
- A window appears with Name, Computer ID, and Licence boxes at the top.
Type your name in the Name box (the others aren’t editable) and click the
Copy to Clipboard button. Then click Exit.
- Browse to the secure ORDER FORM
and follow the instructions provided there.
- Paste (CTRL + V) information copied in step 3 into Your Computer ID field.
- When your payment has gone through - likely after a few days - you will receive
an e-mail message containing a new 16-digit hexadecimal number.
That number is the key for activating your licence.
- You activate your licence from within the Music Explorer. Go to the Start Point,
then to Explore, then to Shells. Then repeat actions from p.2, insert the key number
that you received into the Key field, and press the Accept button.
Each licence applies to one computer. If your hardware changes substantially, MusShell
may stop recognizing your computer; and then you will need to relicense yourself.
Though there is a charge for your initial licence, there is no charge for relicensing.
Be aware that your new licence will be a replacement, not an extra licence.
The old licence will remain invalid.
This is how to relicense yourself:
- Go to the Start Point, then to Explore, then to Shells. The Music Explorer appears.
- Use the License button in the Music Explorer.
(It’s located to the left of the 0-to-9 buttons.)
- In the window that appears, click the Copy to Clipboard button.
- Your clipboard now contains the information required for relicensing.
Start an e-mail message addressed to
support@musshell.com, with Relicensing
as the subject, and paste the information into the body of the message.
(You can use Ctrl+V.) You should find that the information consists of a series
of letters and numbers followed by a # sign and your name
(for example, 07F10501F1520303#Horace Greeley).
- Send the message.
- As quickly as possible after receiving the message, the MusShell personnel will send
you a new key. Go back to the window that the License button gave you,
replace the old key with the new one, and click Accept.
